Payment Methods for Buying Equipment in Syria: What Buyers Ask

14 October 2026 · 5 min read

Quick answer

A block machine order is normally split into five or six instalments, and each one should release against a physical test rather than a calendar date: deposit, factory acceptance with a trial moulding run, loading, arrival and unloading, installation acceptance, and the balance tied to 7 day and 28 day strength samples. The name of the transfer channel changes nothing about who controls the money while a fault is still open.

Payment methods for buying equipment in Syria are the first question most buyers put to us, and the practical answer starts somewhere else: the money follows the acceptance milestones, not the channel it travels through. A block machine order is not one payment but five or six, and each one opens only when a physical test has passed. A machine that fails its trial moulding run at the factory should not be on a ship, and a shipment that arrives with a bent pallet frame should not release its next instalment until the replacement is agreed in writing.

1. How does a block machine payment split by milestone?

A machine order in this size range normally breaks into six release points, and every one of them has a physical trigger rather than a date. The deposit releases when the specification sheet is signed with the block type, the mould output, the pallet size and the site voltage written on it. The second release is factory acceptance, where a trial run produces blocks you can weigh and measure. The third comes before loading, against the packed goods and the shipping documents. The fourth follows arrival and unloading at the port you nominate. The fifth is installation acceptance on your own floor. The last instalment lands after production begins, tied to 7 day and 28 day strength samples made from your own aggregate and cement.

2. Why does the payment rhythm matter more than the payment label?

The label on the transfer protects nobody; the position of the money protects the buyer. If most of the invoice value has left before the machine has run under load at your site, the repair conversation changes character, because the seller has been paid and the buyer is left holding a request instead of a condition.

Keep one instalment unreleased until the cycle is timed on your floor with your mix. A leaking valve, a cracked pallet or a mould that produces 5 hollow blocks instead of 10 then becomes a claim the seller wants to close quickly rather than a favour you are requesting. On a QST8-15 the measured cycle sits between 15 and 23 seconds and the rated pressure at 31.5 MPa, so a machine that cannot repeat those numbers on your own aggregate is a fault with a number attached to it. That is why the release schedule deserves more negotiation time than the name of the channel.

3. What has to be written into the acceptance checklist?

The checklist is where a payment schedule either works or collapses, and every line has to be measurable by one person standing on the floor with a tape and a stopwatch. Write down the block type and its size, for example a 390 x 190 x 190 mm hollow block, and the mould output per cycle: a QS800 moulds 5 hollow blocks at a time, a QS1000 runs 10 and a QS1500 runs 12. Add the pallet the mould is designed around, such as 980 x 860 x 22 mm on a QST8-15, the rated pressure of 31.5 MPa, the vibration force of 95 kN, installed power of 44.9 kW and machine weight of 14 t.

Then add the two strength nodes. A sample set taken from trial production is tested at 7 days and tested again at 28 days, and the balance or the retention releases against those results. If a clause says only that the machine must work well, two engineers will read it two different ways in the same morning.

4. The three gaps that turn a milestone plan into a dispute

Three omissions explain most of the payment arguments we see after delivery, and not one of them is a technical mystery. Each is a sentence in the contract and a stopwatch in the yard.

  • Acceptance standard left open. The balance is released against a visual check instead of a measurement, so nobody can say how much deviation counts as a fault. Fix a block dimension and a band for the cycle time before the deposit is paid.
  • Delivery scope left open. Moulds, spare pallet sets, hydraulic seal kits and wear plates are either inside the order or they are not. A buyer who assumed two moulds and received one loses a block size for a month.
  • Risk split left open. Decide where the seller's responsibility for the goods ends: at the factory gate, at loading, or at the discharge port. Name the surveyor, the crane cost and the claim deadline in the same clause.

5. How do we tie each instalment to something you can test?

Every milestone in our schedule carries an acceptance item that a buyer can verify without anyone from our team standing next to it. Before the second release we run a trial moulding on the machine and record the block dimensions, the pieces per mould and the cycle time. The pressure gauge reading of 31.5 MPa is photographed during pressing, the pallet is measured at 980 x 860 x 22 mm, and the whole run is filmed from the mixer through to the pallet exit.

Those photographs and that video go to you together with the factory acceptance record, so the release decision rests on evidence you already hold rather than on a promise. After arrival the same logic covers installation acceptance and the strength samples at 7 days and 28 days. If a milestone is not met, the instalment attached to it stays where it is until the item is corrected.

6. What do we need from you to write the schedule into the contract?

To turn a milestone plan into contract wording for your project, send the block types and sizes you want to sell, your target output per shift, the raw materials available to you, the pallet size you prefer, your site voltage and frequency, and your discharge port. Our machines are built to 380 V and 50 Hz, and everything else is configured on your working conditions. Send your payment channel and your location as well, and we put the workable settlement route and the contract text together, with the acceptance items attached to each instalment, so that both sides read the same release conditions from day one. None of those items is exotic, and each one is cheaper to settle before the order than after the machine is already standing in the yard.

Frequently asked questions

How are payments usually split on a block machine order?

An order of this size usually carries five or six instalments: a deposit against the signed specification, a release at factory acceptance after the trial moulding run, a loading payment against the packed goods and the documents, a payment on arrival and unloading at your nominated port, an instalment at installation acceptance, and the final amount tied to the strength samples at 7 and 28 days.

What is factory acceptance and why does it hold a payment back?

Factory acceptance is the trial run before the machine is packed, and it is the last point where the buyer can still change the order at low cost. We mould a sample set, measure the block at its specified size, count the pieces per cycle and time the press cycle, with 31.5 MPa on the gauge and a pallet measured at 980 x 860 x 22 mm. The instalment releases when those numbers match the specification.

How can I pay a Chinese supplier from Syria?

Send us your payment channel and your location, and we return the settlement routes that work for both sides together with the contract wording. What decides the risk is not the name of the instrument but the condition attached to each release: the instalment hangs on an acceptance item such as the trial moulding run, the cycle time or the strength sample. Ask for that schedule to be written into the payment clause.

Do the moulds and spare parts count as part of the delivery?

They count only if the contract says so. Each block size needs its own mould, so a plant selling three sizes buys three moulds, and a spare mould, a hydraulic seal kit, wear plates and an extra pallet set are separate lines unless they are written into the scope. Put the full packing list, the spare part list and the quantity of every item inside the delivery clause and check it during loading.

How is transport damage handled between loading and the discharge port?

The contract has to name the point where the seller's responsibility ends, because that point decides who pays. Choose it clearly: handover at the factory gate, at loading on board, or at the discharge port. The same clause should name the surveyor who inspects the goods, who pays for the crane at both ends, and how long the buyer has to file a claim.
